STA Executive
Election of Executive Members
The following positions are specifically elected:
President
Executive Vice-President
Vice-President of Finance
Within each system meeting, the following positions are also specifically elected:
2 System Coordinators (who are also the Teacher Relations Committee Chairs)
2 LINC Chairs
The rest of the positions, up to a maximum of 25 Executive positions, are elected as Executive members generally.
Roles & Responsibilities of Executive Members
Regularly attend Executive Meetings.
Attend Representative Assembly meetings, including the AGM.
Be an active participant in at least one committee.
Contribute to and support STA events, such as conventions and new teacher socials.
Attend Fall and Spring STF Council (Fall council is complete)
Moreover, the executive team collectively shoulders the responsibility of chairing most committees. While it's not mandatory for every executive member to be a chair, the selection of the Chair is made by the President from the Executive.
Considering these expectations, there's a required commitment of approximately two evening meetings per month, covering both executive and assembly meetings. On top of this there may be days required for committee work and occasional participation in STA events.
Executive Members as Councillors
The STF hosts two meetings of Council every year: Council in October, and the Annual Meeting of Council (AMOC) in April. Every STA Executive member is automatically guaranteed a position as a Councillor for these two Council meetings.
